In Loving Memory~

Connie Gail Engelman won her race on September 16, 2010.  She is now sitting at the feet of Jesus, or maybe she is running along the streets of gold, or resting beside the river of life with our dear sweet pappa.       I Chon.16:27 "Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place." (heaven)

September Days~

~Well, hello there!  I know I've been away for quite a while and during that time, we've visited the grandkids (such fun!) and celebrated another anniversary (love you honey!) and celebrated a birthday (hope your day was wonderful Joy!) and finally a trip to Houston to visit my sweet sister who has been bravely fighting an extremely rare form of thyroid cancer these past ten months (you are my hero Connie and I love you more!). On a very personal note, I would be ever so grateful for your continued prayers for Connie!
Ahh September~ I love this month!  It's been very cool and fall like the past couple of days here and I love it! Cool mornings and beautiful blue skies filled with white fluffy clouds, makes you want to put on a light sweater and go for a walk!  The evenings smell of damp leaves and  wood burning and when you go to bed you leave the window cracked just a bit so you can use your favorite quilt and maybe the comforter too!  Oh! and I forgot to mention the "sounds"...have you heard those fall buggies making all their noise..I love that! (:
The school buses are coming and going again too..that always makes me a bit sad though...
I feel sorry for those kids..seems like summer gets shorter and shorter anymore.  Our grand-daughter is in k4 this year and I called her on her first day of school and  said, "Well what did you learn in school today Adalie?"  to which she replied, "Well, we didn't learn anything today grannie, it was just about the rules"...lol! (:
I taught myself how to needle punch the past couple of weeks and I must say that I really do love it!  At first it seemed that I threaded my needle an awful lot, but once I got the hang of it, I really enjoyed it!  I have my very first piece listed on ebay this week!
This is a Brenda Gervais pattern called "Cat in the Jack"... it was fun!  Well, I've missed all of you and will be spending some time visiting your blogs and catching up a bit...I hope you all have enjoyed a sweet summertime. I've noticed that I am nearing my fiftieth post and just so happen to have fifty "followers" too, (thank you very much to each one of you and I'm sorry that I haven't been very faithful as of late)...so I was thinking of having a little giveaway soon...something for fall..I love giveaways don't you! (:       warmest regards~Kathy
