"The gloom of the world is but a shadow; behind it, yet within our reach is joy. Take Joy". ~Tasha Tudor
~ I don't know about all of you, but these long, gray winter days with no sun can take a toll on me. I am not a real big fan of cold weather, I wouldn't say that I LOVE snow, (although it is very pretty when you are looking out at it warm and cozy from your own home, and may I add...no where to go), but I NEED sunshine. That's something we've had very little of the past week and I can feel myself waning a bit . So I ordered this ~
a new valentine cross stitch pattern from Country Stitches to cheer me and I have spring flowers in the kitchen that helps tremendously too...taking joy, so to speak. Wishing that each one of you will find joy on these cold and sometimes gray days too! until next time, a kindred spirit~ Kathy

"It is such a happiness when good people get together-and they always do."
Jane Austen ~Emma
We woke up to a magical winter morning here in Southeast Ohio. Although the sun was hidden behind the thick morning clouds the trees were covered with the most gorgeous ice- snow! It is just beautiful!
view from our front porch~
early morning, believe it or not~
It is a perfect day to sit by the fire and stitch! It's still snowing just lightly now, and I have a pot of chili on the stove and sweet cornbread in the oven. I hope your winter afternoon is cozy too! Until next time, a kindred spirit~Kathy
There is a privacy about it which no other season gives you.... In spring, summer and fall people sort of have an open season on each other; only in the winter, in the country, can you have longer, quiet stretches when you can savor belonging to yourself. ~Ruth Stout
~Happy New Year! I hope you are all safe and warm and I wish each one a new year filled with blessings!
"We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives....not looking for flaws, but for potential." Ellen Goodman~
