Sail Away~

~"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." ~Mark Twain

Wonderful Friday~

Hello! I may have said this before and I certainly don't mean to sound redundent....but these weeks are just flying bye! At times I feel like I am not getting anything done that I really WANT to do...just getting things done that "need" to get done. This part time job is really putting a cramp in my style if you know what I mean! Honestly tho, I am very grateful for this job, especially right now while things are so slow. ~ The weather here is so cool, so unusual for this time of year. I am already feeling that "fall" feeling! I just LOVE the fall....every single thing about it...and I can't wait until I can start decorating the house for the season! (I actually start in August..just to make it last longer! ) I've been working on some "fall" stitcheries ... maybe that has something to do with it too! (: ~Well it is still summer and I thought I'd share a wonderful book with you...it's a perfect summer read and I can't reccomend it enough...you will love it~I did!!! It is..... "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows . ~

~I also thought that I would share a wonderful recipe with you too...I made these for the fourth of July weekend and they were just delicous! This recipe is from Country Living's Aug. issue. Blueberry Corn Muffins~
1 Cup stone-ground yellow cornmeal
1 Cup flour
1/2 Cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1 large egg
1 Cup buttermilk
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
1 Cup blueberries
1 Cup fresh corn kernals (about 2 ears)
1 tablespoon turbinado sugar
~Preheat oven to 400*F. Place baking liners in a 12-cup muffin pan and set aside. Combine cornmeal, flour, granulated sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl and set aside. In a seperate bowl, whisk egg, buttermilk and butter together and stir into dry ingredients until just combined. Gently fold in blueberries and corn. Divide batter amoung muffin cups and sprinke with turbinado sugar. Bake until a skewer inserted into center of muffins comes out clean, about 25 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. ~Enjoy!

~Well, that's it for now....just a little tease though...keep watching...a little surprise coming soon....Until next time, a kindred spirit~Kathy

Psalm 113~

~Praise ye the Lord. Praise, O ye servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord.
Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and for evermore.
From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord's name is to be praised.~Psalm 113:1-3

~Happy Friday~ My post this week is simple and heartfelt ...thankfulness. I feel so grateful for all that the Lord has given me and all that He does for me each and every day. He is worthy of our praise! ~Have a wonderful weekend everyone! Until next time, a kindred spirit~Kathy
