Can you believe it?!

I just can't believe another week has gone by! Do you ever feel like you have so much going on that you just go from one task to another and not one of them gets completely finished? I'm there...and not happy about it. You see, I have a type A personality and I am a bit of a perfectionist...Ugh! This can make for some stressful times! I wish I could just relax, but I'm nearing the big 5-0....someday....(: and I'm just not sure I can change! I'm still sewing curtains for my friend! (several windows) I did finish one of the stitching projects that I've been working on and will post a picture at the end. I also started a new job. Just part time, but oh boy! What that takes out of you...learning new computer programs! I'm always thinking, "I wish I were home sewing again"'s so relaxing isn't it? My husband is self-employed in construction, and with the economy the way it is, building has slowed alot, so I got a part time job at a local health center near our home. Well, I must get busy...I have several things on my "to do" list this morning before I get my hair done! Yeah! Love that! (:
Oh! I almost forgot....the stiching from Stacy Nash, and is called "Liberty". I really enjoyed stitching it, I may make another one and offer it in my new etsy store...when I have time to open it! (: Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for stopping in, I so appreciate it! Until next time, a kindred spirit~Kathy

Remembering Brave Hearts~

Red for brave hearts that burn with liberty

White for the Peace they earn making men free

Stars for the Heavens above,

Blue for the deep, where, in their country's love,

Heroes shall sleep.

Happy Mother's Day~

I don't think anything could have prepared me for being a mother and the love I would feel for my children. Of all the loves in my life, being a mother to Jennifer,(twenty-eight) Joy,(twenty-five) and Jordan(twenty-two) has been my most favorite thing. Being their mother has been both a blessing and a privilege. Even though they are all "grown-ups" now, nothing can change the powerful love and presence that they have in my heart. Being their mother is still central to my life and I love spending time with them. I've also discovered the joy of grandchildren, and what do you know~I love being a grannie too! ( : Here is a picture of our grandchildren, Adalie (almost three) and Braden (7 months) these two are certainly another reward of motherhood! And their mother is the best Mom I know! ~ I'm sharing a few favorite quotes for this special occasion of Mother's Day...may each one of you share a joyous day spent with the one's you love the most...until next time~a kindred spirit~Kathy
"I love these little people;and it is not a slight thing, when they, who are so fresh from God,
love us"~Charles Dickens

to talk."~Doug Larsen

My friend Jenn, from Rabbit Hill Primitives suggested a recipe...great idea here it is, my favortie summer salad! Now, if you don't like cilantro than I don't recomend this recipe, but if you do, you will love it! And it's healthy too, but don't tell your hubby that because if he is like mine, he will immediately tell you that he doesn't like it! (;
Bean Cilantro Salad~
1 can black beans, drained and rinced
1 can chick peas, drained and rinced
1 can white shoepeg corn, drained and rinced
1/2 purple onion, chopped fine
1/2 red bell pepper, chopped fine
2-3 T chopped cilantro
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup lime juice
1/4 tsp salt
Stir altogether and chill for at least one hour before serving~Enjoy! ~And now a picture of my new basket Pam (from basketsnprims) made for me...Thanks Pam...I love it! You are sooo talented! Well, thank you all for stopping in...until next time~a kindred spirit~Kathy
